This club aims to get the most out of your wrestler, whether they are brand new to the sport,
or have a high level of experience. No matter what their level of experience, we keep
wrestling fun and create a positive atmosphere for all. We develop our wrestlers to learn
how to use their body at the highest level for all sports, which include basic coordination,
balance, flexibility, and body control. We teach healthy lifestyles physically, mentally,
emotionally, and spiritually, so that each wrestler is prepared to live a life full of Faith,
Leadership, Discipline, and Humility, when they finish their wrestling career. We will
regularly have conversations and studies that pertain to the Bible and how to apply Truth to
the world that we live in today. We will work to strengthen and equip our wrestlers, not only
for their own relationship with Jesus, but for them to share the message of the Gospel to
those around them as well.
- For beginner wrestlers, we start at the very basics of the sport teaching the
fundamentals necessary for success later on in their wrestling career, all while
keeping things fun and energetic. We are big on making sure young wrestlers do not
get burned out from the sport by the time they get into middle and high school. We
want the wrestlers to “miss” wrestling, meaning they do not do it to often to where it
is not enjoyable. 2-3 practices a week during the wrestling season is more than
enough for our wrestlers to have success and gain the basics of the sport at a young
age, while competing/enjoying other sports during the offseason. Doing other
sports, especially at a young age, helps them develop other muscle groups, lessen
the chances of injuries, and gain indirect benefits like making more friends and
getting coached by other coaches with different styles.
- For experienced wrestlers, we will continue to instill the fundamentals of the sport
while also developing more skills and techniques to compete at a higher level. We
will be more intentional and have a higher expectation for them to be bold in their
faith, learning to get out of their comfort zone in spreading the message of the
Gospel to their peers and community. We will help them develop strategic
techniques to have honest and respectful biblical conversations with those around
them, regardless of that person’s beliefs.
