A message from Robert/Co-owner

At Guardian Wrestling, our story began with a simple drive.

A couple of years ago, my oldest son, Hudson, along with other hardworking wrestlers from Warren County, was making regular trips to Clarksville, TN to train with a club there. These young men were hungry to improve, to expand their knowledge, and to put in the work during the offseason. As wrestling continues to grow here in Warren County and the surrounding areas, I realized something: our athletes shouldn’t have to leave home to chase excellence.

That’s when the vision for Guardian Wrestling was born.

For the past 21 years, I have had the honor of serving this community through the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. During that time, I have also coached many youth sports, middle school, and high school athletes. I’ve had the privilege of watching young people grow not just as competitors, but as individuals. I’ve seen firsthand how the right mentorship, discipline, and encouragement can shape a young person’s future.  Coach Carta and I began planning what it would look like to build something special right here in Bowling Green, a place where wrestlers could sharpen their skills, strengthen their mindset, and grow in character. A place that develops athletes not just for competition, but for life.

Coach Carta brings more than technique and experience to the mat. He brings conviction, faith, and a deep belief that wrestling and character development go hand in hand. I’ve personally witnessed the impact he’s had on my own son; not just in wins and losses, but in confidence, humility, discipline, and leadership. Now my youngest son, who is 9, is being mentored and poured into by Coach Carta and the other coaches as well. Watching that growth firsthand has only strengthened my belief in this mission.

The confidence, humility, and overall character building Coach Carta instills in these young athletes is something truly worth investing in.

Guardian Wrestling is about more than takedowns and medals. It’s about building strong young men and women. It’s about mentorship. It’s about faith. It’s about learning to persevere when things get hard — on the mat and off the mat.

Our goal is to help as many wrestlers as possible become the best version of themselves. Through Coach Carta’s passion for Jesus and the incredible sport of wrestling, we are committed to developing athletes who compete with toughness, lead with integrity, and carry themselves with character in every area of life.

This is more than a gym.
This is a calling.
