I am a lifelong Bowling Green native and attend Warren Central High School. My journey in wrestling began later in life due to the lack of local opportunities in Bowling Green wrestling. This absence led me to Judo with the Bowling Green Judo Club and eventually to the Bowling Green BJJ & Judo Club, where I started learning the fundamentals of wrestling. As a freshman at Campbellsville University, I walked on to the Wrestling team. After my freshman year, I transferred back to Bowling Green and began my MMA career. Utilizing the takedowns and control I had developed through my martial arts and wrestling experience, I compiled a 7-1 amateur record before stepping away from fighting to focus on my Jiu-Jitsu, ultimately earning my Black Belt in BJJ. I still actively train and teach at High Intensity Combat Sports.
The establishment of the SOKY Wrestling Club in 2018 reignited my passion for wrestling and my commitment to seeing it flourish locally, allowing my sons to benefit from opportunities I never had. It’s hard to express the emotions of transitioning from requesting my Athletic Director at Warren Central to create a Wrestling Team, to witnessing it come to life and grow nearly 20 years later. This will be my third year assisting with the Off-Season Strength and Conditioning for our local wrestlers at the wrestling club, and I look forward to many more.
I aim to build stronger versions of both kids and adults who step on our mats, enhancing their physical and mental strength. I also hope to promote Freestyle and Greco wrestling in the area.
