Guardian Wrestling Coaching Staff

Marcell Haynes is currently a coach at Greenwood high school where he is passionate about developing disciplined, confident, and resilient student-athletes both on and off the mat. He began his wrestling career at North Hardin High School, competing from 2005–2009. During that time, he became a three-time state qualifier and earned a state medal his senior year. In addition to wrestling, Marcell was also a multi-sport athlete, competing in football and track.

After high school, he continued both his wrestling and football careers at Campbellsville University from 2009–2011. Following his collegiate career, Marcell returned to North Hardin High School to give back to the program that shaped him, serving first as a volunteer and later as an assistant coach.

In 2013, Marcell joined the military and was stationed in Hawaii from 2013–2017. During his time there, he remained active in the wrestling community, helping coach a local wrestling club as well as contributing to the development of their national team athletes.

After completing his military service, Marcell moved to Bowling Green to finish his degree in computer science. From 2020–2024, he immersed himself in the volleyball community, both playing and coaching, further expanding his coaching experience and leadership skills.

In 2024, Marcell returned to his roots in wrestling and hasn’t looked back.
